Regenerative grazing partnerships for landowners and farmers

A fully supported grazing partnership utilising rare breed British native cattle to restore land, enhance  biodiversity and unlock environmental payment opportunities

The Challenge Facing Britain's Grasslands

Across the UK, grasslands are under strain. Plant diversity is diminishing, soils are compacted and losing vitality, and the insects and birdlife that once thrived are in decline. Water increasingly runs off the surface instead of nourishing the ground beneath.

At the same time, landowners are under growing pressure to deliver environmental outcomes alongside food production – often with added risk and complexity. Many are eager to change the system, yet few are offered straightforward tools to make that change possible.

Many want to change the system. Few are given the tools to do it simply.

Coln Native Livestock offers a solution

We’re dedicated to enhancing biodiversity and restoring natural landscapes through ethical grazing. Our initiatives provide practical support and sustainable solutions for landowners.

By partnering with Coln Native Livestock, you’ll benefit from a fully supported grazing partnership, built for regeneration not short-term extraction.

You stay in control of your land. Coln Native Livestock bring the cattle, infrastructure plan, partnership structure and long-term thinking.

How The Grazing Partnership Works

01

Land assessment

Your land is assessed for soil type & structure, water, capital infrastructure and long-term biological potential.

02

Design

We design and help you create a secure grazing platform.

03

Native cattle placement

British native cattle selected for hardiness, grazing efficiency and meat quality are procured and placed on suitable land. Coln or you, as landowner, can retain the cattle depending on preferences and the site situation.

04

Regenerative grazing

Cattle rotate around the pasture, allowing the grass to rest and recover, under a co-ordinated grazing system suitable to the ecology on the ground. This approach can be supported with an ecological baseline assessment of the site. Over time, this builds deeper roots, better soils and more diverse plant life.

05

Ongoing support

Coln Native Livestock stays actively involved in grazing plans, herd performance and land outcomes.

06

Premium beef option

If you choose, your cattle enter the Coln pasture-fed beef supply chain.

Why British Native Cattle?

British rare breed native cattle sit at the heart of the model simply because they have evolved for British grass, weather and landscapes.

In regenerative systems, they offer:

  • Lower input needs
  • Natural hardiness
  • Ease of handling with quiet temperaments
  • Strong welfare under low-stress management
  • Efficient pasture conversion
  • Excellent meat quality

They belong on this land. That is why they lead this system.
